Greetings Pikemasters,

Another banquet has come and gone and what an event it was. We served 400 lbs. of the best tasting fish we have ever had. We’ve had good fish before but this fish was an absolute mouth watering delight that was enjoyed by all. To my knowledge nobody complained about any natural toothpicks, otherwise known as bones. I did hear though that it was nice having the extra room so that people could move around easier and the prizes were of good quality and variety. Everything seemed to run a bit smoother this year thanks to some re organizing and more help. Thanks to all those of you that helped with the filleting, set up and take down and putting on the banquet, your help is greatly appreciated. A special thank you to the West High Majorettes who were there to help with keeping the kids busy with games and handing out the raffle prizes. Even though everything went well, revenues were down from previous years most likely due to the poor economy. We will have a report on what was brought in so that we can work on a budget for the upcoming year.

Now that the banquet is over we will be able to focus on our next subject which is the kids fishing day. I know that it’s still four months away but we can start getting donations lined up so that we can prepare for what I think will be a big turn out because we have been advertising it more thru the outdoor sport show. More details later.

Due to some scheduling conflicts we will discuss times and places for the club pig roast and fishing day get together for May.

Clay Buckmiller won the membership drive with 14 new members signed up between July 1,2009 and Jan. 31,2010 and will receive that nice new rod and reel combo. All those new members that were signed up between that same date, your names will be put in a hat and one person will be drawn for a new combo also at the meeting. So you new members come to the meeting to see which one of you will be the proud new owner of that combo.

A change in the date for the Camp Make A Dream Tournament on Canyon Ferry is now Aug. 14th at the Sillos. Call Peggy Lawver at 855-8432 or get on line at www.pikemasters.com for more details.

There is still an interest for a minnow pond to be put in out by the Fish & Game office. Bob Dolly will give us a report on this matter. See You At The Meeting, 7 p.m., Thurs. March 4, 2010, Elks Lodge - Bob Rausch, President
