Season’s Greetings Pikemasters!
December, 2005
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday. The turkey and pumpkin pie were certainly abundant around my house. I have been forced to start early on my one and only New Year’s resolution. LOSE 15 LBS.!!!!!
What have we to be thankful for this year? Let me show you all a part of my long list.
1. Good health.
2. Good friends.
3. A GREAT year of fishing.
4. A fantastic Pikemaster’s banquet last January.
5. Our two best Pikemaster’s Tournaments (even if I didn’t do so well in either one!).
6. Financially, our best year for Pikemasters as a club! A lot of hard work on all our parts has given us a good start on next year.!
I can only hope that the next 12 months can bring us as much success as ’05 has. We have lots of work ahead to accomplish our goals for ’06. The Dec. meeting will be an important one.
Tickets for our banquet will be dispersed at the meeting. Only 500 tickets will be available. >From the amount of ticket requests that I have received, I am sure that this yr’s event will be a sell-out. I have had several businesses request entire tables of tickets. It seems that they all want to be the first table served. The quality of Party Pig Catering is well known by now! Dean, Sheila, and crew can be depended upon for another great meal.
The first trade show of the yr. is coming up in a month. We will arrange a schedule for all volunteers. I also may have a couple of sources for another good deal on bulk fishing tackle. I am waiting for a call back from two distributors. I may have a deal worked out by the meeting.
Work commitments kept me away from the Corps Meeting in Glasgow last week. We may be able to get a first hand report from Mark Henckel at the meeting.
I am also going to surprise Clayton Sorenson when he reads this! I think we may be able to convince him or Eric Skaggs to lead an ice fishing expedition to Nelson or Tongue at first ice. From what I have heard, the fishing will be hot around the first of Jan.
There is a new rule at the Eagles Hall. No kids will be allowed at any meetings. We all want to discuss this since Pikemasters is a family oriented organization. Changes may have to be made.
See you all next Thursday, Dec. 1st. 7:00 p.m. at the Eagles Hall.
Good luck in your fishing,
-- Tom Reiter
