On February 2nd, 2003.   The Montana Pikemasters Billings Chapter held its monthly meeting at the Eagles Lodge in Billings, MT. 

Treasury Report: $3298.00 in the account.  All Bills not in from Broadview Pond project yet.  Most of them said they would donate money back to the Club.

New Business:

Stewart Merritt - Doing Web page as a club.  This means all club members must participate with ideas and things to put in webpage.  Recommends that all three officers go over news letter for mistakes and what goes in it.  Eric, Joe and Bobby will get together and go over newsletter before it goes out.

Webpage will consist of all events, fundraisers\, weather forecasts, snow pack conditions and anything pertaining to Pikemasters and Fishing Conditions.

Ken Frazier with FWP was here to thank us for Broadview Pond project and how well it went.  Also, brought up about next project.  A minnow pond above Lake Elmo.  FWP is planning on seeding the Broadview Pond dike.  They are planning on stocking it with trout, first and other pan fish once the trout take hold.  Ken will keep us up to date on Broadview Pond as far as stocking and possible public meetings on when and what to stock. Currently there is a water rights battle going on which could benefit the pond.

Tournament is set for June 21 and 22.  Bob Dolly called state on these dates tournaments are going to be allowed but there will be some stipulations that will be decided hopefully by Monday February 10, 2003.  If dates are official Bob Dolly has permission to start advertising and committee will start meetings.  It has been brought up to set date for Keyhole Tournament just in case Fort Peck Tournament is cancled due to low water.  Fishing license for Keyhole are $10.00 a day or $65.00 per year plus $10.00.

Motion made to set tentative date for Keyhole for September 20, 2003 - Motion Passed.

More Show - Booth 58 on Paddlefish Lane - March 21, 22 and 23.  Possible to try raffle off a trip to Last Mountain Lake - People 4 nights Include Lodging.

Waterwolf Magazine will no longer print from Michigan due to lack of interest.  Montana Pikemaster will print their own issue.  Need inpuit & materials for magazine 1 month before print date.

 

Cystic Fybrosis is having a tournament August 1 and 2nd.  Needs help with tournament weigh boats, shore help & Fisherman.

Sending around signup sheet for placing Christmas trees in Lake Elmo.  Ken with FWP will see if we can store block there.  Any people interested in helping with Christmas trees please contact Clay Buckmiller @ 406-656-7380.

Camp Make a Dream brought in $70.000.  Total to Date $313.00.

Tom Reiter handed out proposal for Banquet.  Possible 1st week in December.  Need to book banquet as soon as possible. Banquet date is set for December 6th, 2003.  All volunteers will receive free tickets.  Tickets for banquet will run $66.00.  Will set committee at next meeting & try to get tickets printed by More Show.

Clay is going to FWP meeting.  That is setup for Public Response on Warm water fishery.  Items that club want to be brought up is Slot limits 9 under 35" and 1 over 40",  Must stop killing pike at other tournaments.  Pike is a game fish and it is illegal to kill, and more northern in Tongue River.

Proposal by Clay Sorenson to buy tapes to donate to library for people to check out.  He will check out and report next meeting.
