Galvin-Corey win
Fort Peck tourney
at Hell Creek

The team of Bruce Galvin and Mike Corey solved a puzzling pike bite to win the 2004 Montana PikeMasters tournament on Fort Peck Reservoir out of the Hell Creek Marina with a total catch of 54.99 pounds of pike.

Galvin and Corey cast to a weed bed in the back of Gilbert Creek Bay for four northern pike on the first day of the tournament and caught two more on the second day to win the $1,280 top prize.

Coming in second-place in the event were Tom Reiter and Tom Reiter, Jr., of Laurel with 34.18 pounds, trolling crankbaits in 20 feet of water.

The Reiters' tactic also resulted in the biggest walleye of the tournament, a 31-incher caught the second day.

The big pike of the tournament weighed 20.42 pounds and was caught by Bob Dolly as he teamed with Conrad Sandaker for third place among the 16 teams in the event with the weight of just that fish.
